Landmark Picks Players of the Week

MADISON, N.J. - Nine student-athletes have been chosen as
Landmark Players of the Week after another week of spring
sports competition. The Player of the Week selections are made by
the conference office.
Baseball Player:
Junior Joseph Durso was an offensive force for Moravian and helped
the team go 4-0 on the week including a three-game sweep of
Landmark foe USMMA. He hit .625 over the four game, with 10 hits in
16 at-bats. He knocked out at least one hit in each game, and had a
four-hit and three-hit performance. Durso also scored at least two
runs in each of the games to finish with nine runs scored. He added
two doubles, a home run and five RBI on the week.
Baseball Pitcher:
Senior Andrew Snyder helped Juniata remain unbeaten in
Landmark play with a complete game victory over Drew. Snyder
tossed seven innings, allowing just two runs, one earned, on six
hits. He struck out four in the contest and picked up his second
victory of the year.
Men's Lacrosse Offense:
Jason Tosches earns offensive player of the week honors for the
second time after a big offensive week for Moravian. In the
Greyhounds' only match, Tosches scored five times and added an
assist in a 13-12 victory over Elizabethtown. One of his five goals
was the game winner 1:45 into overtime.
Men's Lacrosse Defense:
Goucher goalkeeper Austin Main turned in two strong
performances in a 1-1 week for the Gophers. His top effort
came as Goucher knocked off Landmark foe USMMA. Main recorded 16
saves and allowed just five goals while adding two ground balls in
the team's 7-5 victory. He had 11 saves and two ground balls
earlier in the week in a 7-5 loss to Mary Washington. Main
averaged 13.5 saves per game over the week and posted a .692
save percentage in the two contests.
Women's Lacrosse Offense:
Goucher senior Emily Blatter had one of the top offensive matches
in program history in a tight loss to Connecticut College. She
scored a career-high eight goals, and added three assists for 11
points in the match. It was the first time since 2001 a Goucher
player surpassed 10 points in a match. She also added six goals in
Goucher's other match on the week.
Women's Lacrosse Defense:
Drew goalkeeper Stef Rutkowski had two strong performances in a 1-1
week for the Rangers. She made seven saves and came out of goal to
make two key defensive plays in a 7-6 win over Ursinus, and
then followed it up with 18 saves in a setback to 14th-ranked
Colby. She closed the week with 25 total saves to go along with two
ground balls. Rutkowski's save percentage was .510 over the two
contests.
Softball Player:
Kerry Crowley enjoyed an historic week for the Drew softball team
as the Rangers split a pair of doubleheaders. In a victory over
Hunter in the first game of the doubleheader Crowley blasted a Drew
record three home runs to propel the Rangers to a 15-1 win. She hit
safely in all four games during the week, including a multi-hit
game in a win over Landmark foe Juniata. Crowley batted .583 over
the four contests with seven hits, five runs scored and five RBI.
Four of her seven hits went for extra bases.
Softball Pitcher:
Susquehanna pitcher Cara Swerdlow turned in a dominating
performance in an extra innings victory over Susquehanna. She
went all eight innings to earn the victory, and allowed just one
unearned run in the start. She scattered four hits, while striking
out 12 batters in the contest and allowing just one walk.
Men's Tennis:
Sophomore Scott Melideo was a force for the Royals in the team's
six matches on a spring break trip to South Carolina. Melideo
was unbeaten in six singles matches during the trip, playing
five of those matches at the first singles position, and one at
second singles. Melideo has now won seven-consecutive singles
matches. Four of the six victories came in straight sets. He also
added three doubles victories playing at first doubles on the trip.
