Landmark Student-Athlete Named To NCAA DIII SAAC

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Junior Alexander Kulp (Wyncote, PA/Roman
Catholic HS) of the Moravian College men’s soccer team has
been selected to represent the Landmark Conference on the NCAA
Division III National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Kulp is one of just 32 student-athletes selected to the national
committee, and he will remain on the committee until May of 2011.
Along with the Landmark, Kulp will be serving as the representative
for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
As a member of the NCAA Division III National SAAC Kulp will attend
three meetings annually, including the NCAA Convention, to be held
in Washington, D.C. in January 2009, as he works with his fellow
committee members to address issues involving student-athletes in
all Divisions. He will attend his first NCAA meetings July 17 in
Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Kulp, a business major at Moravian, will begin his junior year this
fall and is a two-year member of the Greyhound men's soccer
program. Last fall, Kulp played in seven matches as a defender,
starting three of them. He is a member of both the Moravian and
Landmark SAAC and demonstrated strong leadership as a member of
several organizations in his college career.
Kulp is the second Moravian student-athlete to serve on the NCAA
Division III SAAC. Stephanie Rickards, a 1999 Moravian graduate,
was a member of the NCAA Division III SAAC from 1999 through 2001
and served as a representative for the Middle Atlantic States
Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The mission of the NCAA Division III SAAC is to enhance the total
student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all
student-athletes; protecting student-athlete welfare; and fostering
a positive student-athlete image, while maintaining the tenants of
the Division III philosophy.
