Six Landmark Basketball Teams Competing In Postseason

MADISON, N.J. – A total of six Landmark Conference basketball teams will be participating in postseason play following the announcement of the NCAA and ECAC Tournament fields on Monday. Three Landmark teams earned NCAA Tournament bids while three others will compete in ECAC postseason play.

The Catholic University of America and Juniata College will both be taking part in the NCAA Tournament on the women's side, while The University of Scranton earned an NCAA bid in men's competition. The Catholic and Juniata men's programs also qualified for postseason play as each will compete in the ECAC South Championship field, while the Moravian College women will take part in the ECAC South Championship.

Juniata's men earned the number-one seed for the ECAC South tournament, and will host number-8 seed Penn State-Behrend at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29th in opening round action. Catholic will also host an opening round ECAC game on that date as the Cardinals claimed the third seed and will host number-six seed Gwynedd-Mercy at 7 p.m.

Moravian's women's team will also host an opening-round match on Wednesday as the Greyhounds earned the second seed and welcome Centenary (N.J.) for a 7 p.m. start.

The semifinals and finals of the ECAC Championships will take place at the site of the highest remaining seed  that is able to host on Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4.

All three Landmark NCAA Tournament teams will get underway with first round games on Friday, March 2.

Men's Basketball:
Wednesday, February 29

#6 Gwynedd-Mercy at #3 Catholic, 7 p.m. (ECAC)
Friday, March 2
Messiah vs. Scranton (at William Paterson), 5:30 p.m. (NCAA)

Women's Basketball:
Wednesday, February 29
#7 Centenary at #2 Moravian, 7 p.m. (ECAC)
Friday, March 2
Muhlenberg vs. Catholic (at Mount Union), 5:30 p.m. (NCAA)
Castleton State at Juniata, TBD (NCAA)
