Five Landmark Athletes Earn Academic Honors

MADISON, N.J. - Five members of Landmark Conference men's and women's soccer programs have been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Soccer Teams for their efforts on the field and in the classroom. The Academic All-District Teams are selected by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and are chosen by district.

USMMA senior defender Chris Nitta, USMMA sophomore midfielder Ben Inouye and Goucher sophomore forward Julien Greco received recognition on the men's side, while Drew junior goalkeeper Ann Mularz and Catholic sophomore forward Suzie Peters were honored on the women's side.

Nitta and Mularz were both first-team selections, which means their names will now go on the ballots for the national Academic All-America teams. Inouye. Greco and Inouye were both second-team selections from their respective districts, while Peters was a third team choice.

To be eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District program student-athletes must be of sophomore standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better and be a starter or significant reserve for their athletic teams.
