Administratively, his duties included scheduling, budgeting and first aid/CPR certification for student athletic trainers.

While working on his master’s degree, Lurie served as an assistant athletic trainer at Eastern Mennonite University, an NCAA Division III program that sponsors 17 intercollegiate sports. He shared equal coverage with the head athletic trainer in the sports of baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross-country, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track, and men’s and women’s volleyball.

He has also worked numerous summer camps and clinics, including the Point Guard College, a co-ed basketball camp for participants, ages 14-19, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Lauren’s First and Goal Football Camp in Easton, Pennsylvania, a non-contact, one-day instructional clinic for high school athletes to raise money for Lauren’s First and Goal Foundation.

Lurie is an instructor of first aid and CPR/AED by the American Red Cross; a licensed athletic trainer by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; a clinical instructor at East Stroudsburg University; a certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification; and certified in first aid and CPR/AED by the American Red Cross. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society, Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Lurie will begin his duties at the university in August. The University of Scranton is an NCAA Division III program that sponsors 19 intercollegiate sports, a majority of which compete in the Landmark Conference.
