Susquehanna Hires New Sports Information Director

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University's Office of Communications has appointed Robert Healy to the position of director of athletics communications. He will assume the post July 1.

Healy comes to SU from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., where he has served as the assistant sports information director for the past year. His duties included recording game statistics, writing event recaps, designing and producing event programs, updating and editing the department's Web site, writing stories for the college's communications and development office, and coaching track and field.

He also has served as a media relations liaison for the Pittsburgh Steelers, a journalist for the Pittsburgh Sports Report and a promotions assistant for Clear Channel Communications, Inc.

Healy received a Bachelor of Arts in communications studies from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in multimedia technology from the same institution. While at Duquesne, he was a five-year member of both the indoor and outdoor track and field teams and a four-year member of the football team.
