Landmark Honors Four Athletes of the Week

MADISON, N.J. - The Landmark Conference has recognized fourstudent-athletes as Players of the Week following another week of competition. The selections are made by the Landmark Conference office.

Men's Cross Country:
Susquehanna sophomore Paul Thistle continued his strong season as he qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships on the strength of a stellar performance at the NCAA Mideast Regional. Thistle crossed the line in 21st position at the meet, posting a time of 25:28 on the 8K course. The time was the fastest by a Landmark runner this season, and topped his previous season best at that distance by more than a minute.

Women's Cross Country:
Susquehann Freshman Alycia Woodruff earned a spot at the NCAA Division IIIChampionships with an outstanding performance at the NCAA Mideast Regional. Woodruff blistered the 6K course in a time of 22:21 which marked a new career best for the freshman at the distance, and improved on her best time by more than a minute. Her time was good for a ninth-place finish at the meet.

Men's Swimming:
Susquehanna junior Alex Thurstlic helped the Crusaders claim their first win over Dickinson College in 20 years with several top performances. He swam the backstroke leg of the 400-medley relay which Susquehanna won to open the meet and then turned in individual victories in the 200 IM and 200 backstroke. His times in the events were 2:05.28 and 2:07.02 respectively.

Women's Swimming:
Junior Sam Sutherland of Goucher helped the Gophers earn their first victory of the season as she swam to a pair of individual wins in a triumph over Gallaudet. Sutherland picked up a win in the 200 IM in a time of 2:24.56 and then was first to the wall in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:51.50. Sutherland also swam a leg in Goucher's winning 200 medley relay team.
