Landmark Picks Athletes of the Week

MADISON, N.J. - With the winter sports season winding down the Landmark Conference has selected six Athletes of the Week following another strong week of competition. The Athlete of the Week selections are made by the conference office.

Men's Basketball:
Senior Josh Robinson helped Susquehanna lock up a Landmark postseason berth with a pair of solid performances. He scored 27 points in both of the Crusader's Landmark games to help the team earn two wins. He had 27 and three rebounds against Goucher, and followed with 27 and six boards against Catholic. He shot 50-percent from the field and 94-percent from the foul line over the two games. Robinson also contributed three steals and an assist.

Women's Basketball:
Senior Kathleen Daly produced two strong performances in her final regular season home games for Scranton. On senior day, Daly poured in a career-high 23 points with eight rebounds as the Royals outlasted USMMA. She opened the weekend with nine points and six rebounds in 18 minutes in a win over Drew. She added four assists and four steals on the week while shooting 39-percent from the field and 86-percent from the foul line. Daly averaged 16 points and seven rebounds over the two wins, which helped Scranton clinch a conference postseason berth for the 33rd-straight season.   

Men's Field:
Blair Maginnis of Moravian placed fifth in both the shot put at the weight throw at the non-scored Cornell Open. He qualified for the ECAC Championships with a toss of 14.42 meters in the shot put, and then produced a best toss of 14.44 meters in the weight throw.  

Women's Field:
Susquehanna's Beth Lawrence earned a victory in her only event at the Susquehanna Indoor Open. She earned a first-place finish in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 1.57 meters. That height ranks as the second-highest total in the Landmark Conference this season.  

Men's Track:
Susquehanna sprinter Josh Simpson posted two impressive individual efforts at the Susquehanna Indoor Invitational. Simpson won both of his individual events, crossing the line first in both the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. His time of 6.59 in the 55 is the second fastest in the conference this season, while he ran a mark of 23.37 in the 200. He also ran a leg in the 4x200 relay which placed second at the meet.

Women's Track:
Sydni Wisniewski of Moravian produced a pair of strong finishes on the track at the non-scored Cornell Open. She broke a school record, and earned an ECAC qualifying mark with her time of 59.36 in the 400, which was good for a sixth-place finish. She was also sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.16. She added two top-15 finishes in two field events at the meet.
