  • Catholic University Appoints New President
    June 30, 2010
    The Catholic University of America announced that John H. Garvey, dean of Boston College Law School since 1999, has been appointed CUA’s 15th president effective July 1, 2010.
  • First Landmark Sportsmanship Cup Goes To Juniata
    June 30, 2010
    After a full year of competition in 20 Landmark sports and the opinions of student-athletes and coaches from them all Juniata College has won the inaugural Landmark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Sportsmanship Cup.
  • Student-Athletes Named to Spring All-Academic Team
    June 24, 2010
    The Landmark Conference has announced the selection of 32 student-athletes to the 2010 Spring Landmark All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically. Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark spring sports and must be a sophomore or older with a strong cumulative GPA.

  • Landmark Honors Academic Honor Roll Athletes

    The Landmark Conference has recognized 440 student-athletes by selecting them for the 2010 Spring Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. The honorees were selected from all eight Landmark Conference institutions.
  • Baseball Players Capture All-Region Honors

    Three Landmark Conference baseball players were honored for their play with selection to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region Team. Another two Landmark performers were recognized with selections to the All-Region Gold Glove Teams.

    Senior Anna Heim (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) of the Moravian College women’s track & field team captured her second national championship of the year, winning the pole vault on the first day of the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championship being hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College Thursday.

    Eleven Landmark women's lacrosse players were honored for their performance on the field with selection to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region Teams. Four Landmark teams were honored with at least one selection to the 224-athlete team.

    Two members of The University of Scranton baseball team are now one step away from earning Academic all-America honors for the second time in their distinguished careers. Senior outfielder/pitcher Justin Champagne and junior outfielder Chris Stallone were named first-team District II all-Academic.

    A total of 16 student-athletes have been selected to the 2010 All-Landmark Conference Women’s Tennis Team in recognition of their efforts on the court this past season, as selected by the conference’s seven head coaches. The team consists of a first and second team, with six singles players and three doubles pairings per team and the voting took place prior to Landmark postseason competition.

    After a season in which two Landmark teams earned NCAA Tournament berths and five teams finished .500 or better in conference play 26 student-athletes have been selected to the 2010 All-Landmark Conference Softball Team as voted by the conference’s seven head coaches. The All-Landmark Team includes a first and second team, with the voting done by position. The voting took place prior to the start of the Landmark softball postseason.
  • Seven Teams Representing The Landmark In NCAA Tournaments

    A total of seven Landmark Conference teams have earned the right to represent the conference in NCAA Division III Tournament play as announced Monday May 10. The first teams will be in action on Wednesday as three teams take part in opening round games. One more will begin competition on Thursday, with the remaining three kicking off competition on Friday

    The Landmark Conference has selected six athletes as Landmark Senior Scholar Athletes for their respective winter sports. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities.
  • Juniata Leads Winter Landmark SAAC Sportsmanship Cup Standings

    The winter sports season has concluded and the inaugural Landmark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Sportsmanship Cup standings still have Juniata College at the top. With 12 of the 20 Landmark sports concluded Juniata has compiled a score of 8.67 to remain in the top spot.
