Landmark Announces Players of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has released the Players of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Brendan Boken
Scranton (So., F, South Pasadena, Calif.)

Boken averaged 27.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.7 blocks, and 2.0 assists per game in leading the Royals to three victories this past week. He opened the week by connecting on 15-of-17 shots from the field to finish with a career-high 37 points in Scranton’s win over Keystone College. Over the weekend, Boken was named to the Cross County Challenge all-tournament team after helping Scranton to wins over local rivals King's College, 87-83, and Wilkes University, 83-68. He had 24 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, and two assists against King's on Friday and 21 points, four rebounds, three steals, and a block in the victory over Wilkes on Saturday.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Emily Grabiak
Catholic (Sr., G, Haddonfield, N.J.)

Grabiak led Catholic to its second straight CUA Holiday Tournament Title to wrap up 2013. On Monday, the senior was just 2 assists shy of notching a triple-double as she had 20 points, a career-high 14 rebounds, and 8 assists. In addition to her impressive line, she also hit the game winning shot with less than seven seconds left to lift the Cardinals to a 71-69 win over King's (Pa.). In the championship game, Grabiak scored 22 points on 46.2% shooting from the floor, including a 4-of-8 performance from downtown. She also hauled in eight boards and had three steals on the way to earning Most Valuable Player honors at the tournament.
