Landmark Announces Players of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has released the Players of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

Baseball Player of the Week
Warren Hartmann
Merchant Marine (Sr., IF, Wyckoff, N.J.)

Hartmann exploded during the Mariners perfect 4-0 week, going 10-for-13 (.769) at the plate and posting a slugging percentage of 1.769. The senior had at least one hit and one RBI in each game and totaled 10 RBI over the four game stretch. Hartmann recorded seven extra base hits, including two triples and two homeruns. He scored nine runs and stole four bases to go along with a .765 on-base percentage. USMMA has won five straight games with one non-conference game remaining before opening Landmark play next weekend.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Robin Mowatt
Catholic (Sr., P, Rockville, Md.)

Mowatt made two appearances this week for Catholic. The senior pitched one inning of scoreless relief in Wednesday's extra-inning win over Ursinus. On Saturday, he led the Cardinals to a 3-2 win in the second game of the Landmark doubleheader with Scranton. Mowatt pitched the complete game, scattering five hits with six strikeouts and just one walk.

Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
John Gregitis
Scranton (Sr., M, Wayne, Pa.)

Gregitis capped off a 2-0 week for the Royals by scoring the game-winning goal with 3.6 seconds remaining to lift the Royals to a 5-4 victory over Catholic, a game in which Scranton trailed 3-0 with 11 minutes remaining in the fourth period. He also scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal on Tuesday in the Royals' 8-5 win over cross-town neighbor Marywood University with 6:35 left in the fourth period. Gregitis finished with three goals and three assists in the two wins.

Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Nicholas McKaba
Scranton (So., G, Long Valley, N.J.)

McKaba recorded 17 saves, including 10 in Friday's dramatic 5-4 victory over Catholic. He allowed only one goal after the Cardinals built a 3-0 halftime lead and made five saves in the fourth period to preserve the victory. McKaba added seven saves in Scranton’s 8-5 win over Marywood on Tuesday.

Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
Nikki Kleiman
Drew (Jr., M/A, Cranford, N.J.)

In three games this week Kleiman scored six goals and tallied nine assists for 15 points. In Friday’s Landmark opener, Kleiman racked up three goals and four assists. She scored the game-winning goal with nine seconds left to defeat Scranton 13-12.

Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Jadin James
Drew (Fr., GK, Farmington, Conn.)

James went 2-0 in goal for Drew this week. In a victory over Centenary on Tuesday, James made two saves and allowed one goal. She followed up with a victory over Scranton on Friday. She made eight saves in 51 minutes of action to finish the week with a 5.76 goals against average and 52.6 save percentage.

Softball Player of the Week
Kristina Lozupone
Catholic (Fr., C, Dunkirk, Md.)

Lozupone went 13-for-30 from the plate in nine games for Catholic at the Rebel Games in Winter Haven, Fla. In the team's 8-5 win over Waynesburg, she went 3-for-4 with a triple, had one RBI and added a run to go with a stolen base. She went 2-for-3 against Westminster (Pa.) and Hiram while batting 2-for-4 against Husson and Geneva. The Cardinals’ starting catcher, Lozupone finished the week with a .938 fielding percentage with just one error.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Kristin Zeigler
Drew (So., P/UTL, Collegeville, Pa.)

Zeigler made three appearances in the circle this week and earned a 3-0 record for Drew. She pitched two complete game victories over Bridgewater St. and Saint Joseph’s (Me.) while entering in relief to earn the win over New Jersey City. Zeigler finished the week with a 0.47 earned run average in 15.0 innings of work.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Logan Moore
Juniata (So.,Chadds Ford, Pa.)

Moore finished the week 5-0 in singles at the No. 5 position. He clinched Juniata’s win over Catholic with a come-from-behind victory for the first conference win of the year. Moore went 2-3 in doubles. He earned a No. 1 doubles over Westminster (Pa.) and a No. 2 victory against Catholic. The Eagles have started the season 5-0.

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Jacklyn Renninger
Juniata (So., Manheim, Pa.)

Renninger finished the week 5-0 in singles at No. 5 and 6 singles including a win at No. 6 in the Landmark opener against Catholic. She also went 5-1 during the week at No. 3 doubles as the Eagles moved to 6-1 on the year.
