Landmark Announces Players of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has released the Players of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Jared Prince
Catholic (Jr., C, Wilmette, Ill.)

Prince was named to the All-Tournament Team at Manhattanville’s AJ Buchannan Classic after guiding the Cardinals to a 1-1 record this weekend. On Friday, the junior posted a career-high 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line against Eastern Connecticut State. He also had six boards and a steal to go with two blocks. In Saturday's consolation game against Medgar Evers, Prince scored 18 points and pulled down five boards with two steals and three blocks. For the weekend, he shot 57.1 percent from the floor and 90.0 percent from the foul line.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Alexis Wright
Moravian (Jr., F, Shillington, Pa.)

Wright helped the Greyhounds to a 2-0 week with a pair of double-doubles. She scored a career-high 31 points to go with 10 rebounds and six blocked shots in an 86-81 win at TCNJ. Wright then added 16 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots in a 72-62 victory over Albright in Moravian's home opener on Saturday. Wright played 33 minutes in each game and added four steals and two assists while shooting 16-of-37 from the floor and 15-of-19 at the foul line during the week.

Men's Swimming Player of the Week
Lucas Cherry
Susquehanna (Fr., Falls Church, Va.)

Cherry was part of the group of Susquehanna swimmers who traveled to Bucknell as the only Division III contingent at the three-day Bucknell Invitational. He finished in the top 25 in three individual events. Cherry swam the 50 free in 21.65 seconds and the 100 free in 47.80 seconds. Both times are the fastest in the Landmark this season and rank third and fourth in Susquehanna program history respectively. He also posted the conference’s fastest time in the 100 back this season at 54.37 and combined with teammates in four relays at the meet.

Women's Swimming Player of the Week
Alex Bornman
Susquehanna (Jr., Mechanicsburg, Pa.)

Bornman competed in five events at the Bucknell Invitational this weekend. Susquehanna was the only Division III team at the three-day meet. Bornman posted the Landmark’s fastest time in the 100 breaststroke this season at 1:08.70 while setting a new Susquehanna record. She also posted the second fastest conference time this season in the 50 freestyle at 25.47 and finished the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.13 for the third fastest time this season. Bornman also competed in two relays for the Crusaders.
