Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

Men’s Basketball
The University of Scranton earned a win last week to move to 4-0 on the Season. They Royals hosted Widener and defeated the Pride 84-74 in the John Long Center. After dropping its first two contest of the season, Moravian College has won its last three games to move to 3-2 on the season. The Greyhounds defeated DeSales 84-74 last Tuesday. Conference action starts this weekend at 4:00 p.m.

Women’s Basketball
Scranton picked up a 68-47 win at Marywood on Tuesday to improve to 3-0, while Susquehanna University defeated Lycoming 72-65 to move to 3-1. Conference action starts this weekend at 2:00 p.m.

Swimming & Diving
Elizabethtown College was the only team in action last week. The Blue Jay men defeated Lebanon Valley 215-30 while the women’s team won 137-125.

Men's Athlete of the Week - Matthew Mancuso, Scranton

Men's Athlete of the Week - Matthew Mancuso, Scranton

The University of Scranton's Matthew Mancuso recorded game-highs of 25 points and nine rebounds on Tuesday night to lead the Royals to an 84-74 victory over Widener. The junior shot six-of-nine from the field and went 12-of-13 from the free throw line while also adding three blocks and two assists. Mancuso has now scored at least 20 points in three of the Royals' first four games this season.

Women's Athlete of the Week - Anise Williams, Goucher

Women's Athlete of the Week - Anise Williams, Goucher

(Fr., G - West Palm Beach, Fla.)

Goucher College's Anise Williams has been one of the top scorers for Goucher throughout the season so far. In the 71-42 win over Notre Dame (Md.), Williams scored 19 points for a shooting average of 66 percent to go along with three rebounds in 29 minutes of action. The rookie also added three assists, four steals, and one block.
