Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

Men’s Basketball
Winter storm Harper limited conference games over the weekend with only two games in action. After dropping an 87-76 decision against Susquehanna University, the University of Scranton earned a 64-59 victory at Juniata on Saturday to improve to 14-3 overall and an even 3-3 in conference action. After defeating Scranton on Wednesday, the River Hawks (11-6, 4-2 LC) lost to Catholic University, 78-74 on Saturday. Elizabethtown College will host Drew University tonight at 4:00 p.m. while Moravian College will travel to Goucher College for a 5:00 p.m. tipoff.

Women’s Basketball
The University of Scranton is riding a 17-game winning streak thanks to a pair of wins last week. The Lady Royals earned a 58-45 victory over Susquehanna University on Wednesday. The 58 points is just the second time Scranton has scored less than 60 points in a game. On Saturday, the Lady Royals won game No. 17 with a 69-45 victory against Catholic University.

Swimming & Diving
The winter storm limited meets over the weekend. Goucher College competed at Marywood University on Wednesday with the Pacers winning on both the men’s and women’s side. Susquehanna University men’s and women’s teams fell to Ursinus on Friday. On Saturday, Catholic University defeated Randolph-Macon while Elizabethtown College fell to Albright College. Juniata College was schedule to compete at the two-day California (Pa.) Invitational, but only managed to get one-day of competition in.

Track & Field
Seven of the eight Landmark track and field teams competed last week. Juniata College was at the Highlander Invitational, while Susquehanna University hosted its annual Orange and Maroon Classic, where Elizabethtown College, Juniata, also competed.
