Crusaders Roll Past Rangers In Doubleheader

MADISON, N.J. - The Susquehanna University baseball team picked up two Landmark Conference wins over Drew University (3-13, 2-5 Landmark), winning 15-4 and 6-1 in Madison on Saturday.

The Crusaders (10-9, 5-2 Landmark) got complete games from both pitchers. John Lunardi (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) benefitted from an offensive explosion in game one, but did his part with five strikeouts. In game two, Bryce Warden (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) went the distance and also struck out five, only giving up one run on four hits.

The Susquehanna offense was led in the first game by Don Kirkland's (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) two home runs, which drove in four runs. Chris Price (Coral Springs, FL/Coral Glades) went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double and two RBIs, and Zack Brigman (Yardville, NJ/Hamilton West) was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs. Brian Ahearn (Avon, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) also drove in two runs on two hits.

In the second game, Tyler Reichard (Danville, Pa./Danville) had the big bat, going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Susquehanna also got RBIs from Ahearn and Kirkland.

The two teams complete their Landmark matchup with a game Sunday at noon.
