USMMA Alumnus Collects Prestigious Honor

KINGS POINT, N.Y. - USMMA alumnus Myles Campbell '78 has been
named one of the "100 Most Influential Sports Educators in America"
by the Institute for International Sport.
The core criteria for this honor was the effective use of sport as
a means to educate. Campbell was a four-year letterwinner with the
baseball program at the Academy and served as the Athletic Director
and Head Baseball Coach from 2001-05 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel
High School in Tenafly, N.J. The list also includes sports legends
such as Joe Paterno, Mike Krzyzewski, Cal Ripken, Bill Russell,
John Wooden and Tiger Woods.
Campbell has coached several players that have gone on to play at top NCAA Division I Universities and professionally. He has held several nationally acclaimed student-athlete events in association with the Ivy League which emphasized academics, athletics and service to the community. The alum has also developed numerous sports education programs teaching important character traits with sports as the medium. For his efforts, Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School was selected as an All-American Sportsmanship School in 2006.
Campbell started all four years for the baseball team at the
Academy. He served as a co-captain, was named Team MVP and garnered
all-conference honors as Mariner. He is currently a consultant in
investment banking and resides in Englewood Cliffs, N.J.
