York, Pa. — The Catholic University of America baseball team was topped on Friday afternoon in an elimination game on day two of the 2018 NCAA Mid-Atlantic by Arcadia, 13-2, to complete the season at PEOPLEsBank Park. The Cardinals end the year with a 31-15 record.

After two scoreless frames, the Knights exploded for 10 runs to take command. The Cards were able to limit them to just one run over the next three innings and got two back on an RBI double by rookie Michael Doody. He finished his day 1-for-2 and added a walk.

Arcadia quickly answered however with two runs on a suicide squeeze in the next inning.

Junior centerfielder Bailey Lewis continued his strong regional play as he went 2-for-3 with a run and a double.

Senior designated hitter Jake Crist picked up Catholic's other run as he went 1-for-4 with a single.

After a six-RBI game last night, senior first baseman Brennan Cotter went 1-for-4 with two long shots to right field that were only held in play by strong winds blowing into the park.

Catholic also got four solid innings of relief from junior Colin Cunningham who scattered three hits and just one run with a strikeout.

The Cardinals have won two Landmark Regular Season Championships, one tournament title and posted at least 28 victories with 59 total over the past two seasons.
