Law Goals Help Drew Claim Critical Win

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Lizz Law scored a brace and the Drew field hockey defense withstood second half pressure from Susquehanna to post a vital Landmark Conference victory. The Rangers took sole possession of third place in the Landmark as they upped their conference record to 3-2, 10-6 overall. Stef Rutkowski made 13 saves in goal for Drew while allowing just a second half goal by Andrea Fiori.
Law scored in the 12th minute of the game converting a pass from Whitney Kerns. In the 23rd, the sophomore scored her ninth of the season by turning in Hillary DeCataldo's feed. Solid midfield play helped Drew maintain that lead into the break.
The second half saw Rutkowski, the reigning Landmark Conference Defender of the Week, make eight saves including four in a flurry in the 59th minute. Despite being outshot by the Crusaders 19-6 in the game, Drew held on for the win.
The Rangers have just a home game against Moravian left in their
conference schedule next Saturday, though a trip to #10 Rowan
precedes that on Thursday.
