Drew Hires New Field Hockey Coach

MADISON, N.J. - Felicia Cappabianca, previously the lead assistant field hockey coach at the University of New Hampshire, has been named the new Head Coach of Drew's field hockey program.  Cappabianca joins the Rangers after more than three years with the Wildcats.  From nearby West Essex Regional High School, she also has numerous years of experience coaching at the youth level, in personal training and as a Division I player.

A 2002 graduate of Boston University with a B.A. in psychology, Cappabianca was the assistant at New Hampshire from 2003 through 2006.  She was responsible for all aspects of recruiting, scouting and program operations for the DI team.  She also has DIII experience having served as an assistant with Montclair State.

Cappabianca was a four-year letterwinner on BU's field hockey team and was selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Northeastern Region All-America Team in 2001. As a tri-captain, she was the Terriers' second-leading scorer that season with seven goals and four assists for 18 points. Cappabianca played in a school-record 85 games and compiled career totals of 22 goals and seven assists for 51 points. Her other honors included two selections to the America East All-Conference Team.

Prior to her years at New Hampshire, Cappabianca was an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Montclair State University.  She also worked as a personal trainer with Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning, the Institute of Athletic Performance and Axiom Health and Fitness Center.

She was an All-State and All-American selection in 1997 as a student at West Essex Regional and later returned to coach the freshman field hockey team at her alma mater and various field hockey camps.
