Juniata Earns Win In Home Finale
HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata College field hockey squad closed
out its 2007 home slate with a 2-0 win over Frostburg State
University, Thursday night in Huntingdon, Pa.
The 16th-ranked Eagles jumped out to a quick lead as Erin Smith
(Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) scored just over eight minutes into the
game, off an assist from Michelle Campbell (Annville, Pa./Northern
Lebanon).
Juniata expanded its lead to 2-0 with 25:11 remaining in the second
half, when Kim Wagner (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) scored on a

scoring attempt, and beat Runion on the stroke with a shot into the
upper left corner of the goal.
Juniata (12-2, 3-1 Landmark) outshot the Bobcats 13-2, however
Frostburg had an 8-6 advantage in penalty corners. Runion finished
the contest with seven saves, while Eagle goalie Moira Nugent
(Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) played all 70 minutes but was
not credited with any stops. Senior Heather Hassinger (Middleburg,
Pa./Middleburg) had one defensive save during the game.
The Eagles' six remaining regular season games will all take place
on the road, starting with this Saturday's Landmark Conference
