Campbell Leads Eagles Past Oneonta State

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Senior Michelle Campbell (Annville,
Pa./Northern Lebanon) scored once in each half to lead Juniata
College to a 3-0 win over Oneonta State, in women's field hockey
action Monday afternoon on Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon, Pa.
Campbell's first goal was the lone goal of the first half, as she
took a pass from Heather Hassinger (Middleburg, Pa./Middleburg) and
released a hard shot from the right side of the goal that sailed
past Red Dragon goalie Erika Dombkowski, just 3:55 into the
game.
Kim Wagner (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) expanded the Eagle lead to
2-0 with a goal at the 27:38 mark of the second half. Campbell put
the game beyond reach with just 7:21 remaining when she scored on a
penalty stroke goal.
Freshman goalie Moira Nugent (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg)
made the start and earned the win, and was credited with one save.
Dombkowski finished the day with five saves. Juniata outshot the
Red Dragons 30-1, and had an 11-1 advantage in penalty corner
opportunities.
The 16th-ranked Eagles improved to 11-2 overall with the win, while
Oneonta State dropped to 6-7. The Eagles play their final regular
season home game of 2007 on Thursday, Oct. 11, when they host
Frostburg State on Winton Hill Field.
