Susquehanna Cruises to Non-Conference Triumph
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Susquehanna field hockey team steamrolled
non-conference opponent Wells en route to a convincing 9-0
victory.
Every player on the Susquehanna roster had a chance to take a piece
of playing time, and all but one position player unleashed a shot
on Wells keepers Beth Cereo and Alison Salvatore.
Andrea Fiori (West Trenton, N.J./Lawrenceville School) headed the barrage of offense, scoring five goals on the night for Susquehanna. Christine Ottley (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) connected on two of her three shots as well, raising her season total to three goals scored.
Freshman Sammi Kramer (Royersford, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) scored her first career goal in the 59th minute of play, while Kristen Epting (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg) rounded out the Crusaders' scoring with an unassisted goal in the 36th minute.
Courtney Salsman (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) compiled two assists on the day while Rebecca Entwistle (Farmingdale, N.J./Wall) and Megan Sites (Loysville, Pa./West Perry) each contributed an assist apiece.
Goalkeepers Lyndsay Meabon (Dillsburg , Pa./Northern) and Jess
Weiss (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./William Tennent) split time in the
box, but neither keeper saw a shot on goal.
