TOWSON, Md. – The eight Landmark women’s golf coaches selected Drew University as the favorites in the 2019 Landmark Women’s Golf Preseason Poll.
The Rangers will vie for a Landmark Conference title after placing second at the inaugural LC Championships and winning the Landmark Fall Tournament this past September. Freshman Cathy Bi led the Rangers in the fall with an 84.2 average and won the LC Fall Tournament. Sophomore Lucy Lamb is back after earning First Team All-Landmark honors following her runner-up performance at last year's conference championship. She averaged an 86.3 last season.
First-year program Catholic University was picked second in the poll. After an encouraging fall season, coach Ed Dolan is confident his first-year group can compete well in the spring for the Landmark Conference.
The University of Scranton was selected third in the poll. The Royals need to replace a pair of Second Team All-Landmark performers from last season in order to improve upon last spring's fourth place result at the Landmark Conference Championships.
Marywood University, last year’s conference champion, was picked to finish fourth. The Pacers, under the guidance of the 2018 Women’s Golf Coach of the Year Eric Grundman, returns Mariah Casey, a First Team selection, Brianna baker, and Tessa Briselden, both Second Team selections this year.
Susquehanna University finished fifth, followed by Goucher College in sixth. Juniata College ranked seventh and Elizabethtown College rounded out the poll in eighth.
