Landmark Hoopsters Earn All-Region Honors

MADISON, N.J. - The Landmark Conference placed seven men's and women's basketball student-athletes on two different All-Region teams following the first season of Landmark competition. One Landmark player was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District Team, while seven players earned spots on D3hoops.com All-Region squads.

Susquehanna senior Josh Robinson was a first-team selection to the NABC All-District Team and a second-team pick on the D3hoops.com team. Juniata senior Brian Cannon was also a second-team D3hoops.com team pick, and Scranton senior Tom Bicknell was a third-team choice. On the women's side Juniata freshman Jen Hnatuck was the only first-team pick on the D3hoops.com all-region team. Her teammate Kelly Ashcraft was named to the second team while Goucher senior Shadae Swan also captured second-team honors. Earning third-team recognition was Scranton senior Kathleen Daly and Moravian sophomore Alyssa Bisci. The NABC All-District Team is voted on by the district coaches, while the D3hoops.com team is selected by the region sports information directors.

Robinson was the Landmark Men's Basketball Player of the Year as he helped the Crusaders win the conference regular season title. He led the conference in scoring at 21.7 points per game and ranked in the top-10 in the conference in nearly every statistical category.

Cannon was a first-team All-Landmark selection in his senior season as he ranked among the conference leaders in scoring and rebounding. He finished second in the conference in scoring at 18.6 points per game and was fourth in rebounding.

Bicknell was another first-team All-Landmark pick as he helped Scranton claim the conference championship. He was the leading rebounder in the league at 11.3 boards per game and also averaged 14.1 points. He had 15 double-doubles in points and rebounds on the season.

Hnatuck was a second-team All-Conference pick in her first season, one of three freshmen named to the All-Conference Team. She was the leading rebounder in the conference, and was 10th in the Landmark in scoring. She also shot better than 50-percent from the field.

Ashcraft led Juniata in scoring at 13.3 points per game, and was the Landmark leader in field-goal percentage as she was a first-team All-Conference choice. The junior was also among the Landmark leaders in rebounding.

Swan was the leading scorer in the Landmark Conference and captured first-team All-Conference recognition. She averaged 22.4 points per game in her senior season, and reached double figures in scoring in every game, extending a remarkable streak in which she scored at least 10 points in 71 consecutive games.

Daly was selected as the Landmark Player of the Year in her senior season and helped lead the Royals to the regular season and postseason Landmark titles. She averaged 11.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in her final season, while shooting 46-percent from the field and also ranking in the top-15 in the league in assists.

Bisci was a second-team All-Landmark selection in her sophomore season as she was a leader for a balanced Moravian team. She was in the top-10 in rebounding at 5.9 rebounds per game, and was also in the top-15 in scoring. She was also in the top-10 in field goal and free throw percentage.

In its first season of competition the Landmark sent four teams, two mens and two womens teams, to the NCAA Division III Tournament and also two teams to the ECAC postseason.
