Gophers Shutout Chargers

LANCASTER, Pa. - Geoffrey Gray-Cornelius (Poughkeepsie, NY/Oakwood Friends School), Patrick DeLapp (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing Area) and Brandon Nicholson (Germantown, MD/Damascus) all scored their first goals of the season today as Goucher downed Lancaster Bible in convincing fashion, 7-0.

Seventeen different players on head coach Gary Dunda's roster have tallied at least one goal so far during the Gophers' 2007 campaign.

Gray-Cornelius contributed two goals to today's victory, both in the first half and sandwiched around a goal by Julien Greco (Shutesbury, MA/St. George's School) that was set up by Andrew Eden (Damascus, MD/Sandy Spring Friends School).

A goal by Dan Brody (Stonington, CT/Stonington) at 29:51 provided the Gophers (6-9-1) with a 4-0 lead at halftime.

DeLapp scored his goal at 49:39 and then picked up an assist at 63:20 on Nicholson's goal. The final goal of the contest belonged to Travis Boland (Athol, MA/Ralph C. Mahar) in the 79th munute.

The Gophers unleashed 23 shots in the win, but limited the Chargers (7-11) to one shot.
