Merchant Marine Soccer Player Featured on NCAA Website

KING'S POINT, N.Y. - Chris Nitta '08 of the United States Merchant Marine Academy men's soccer team has just been featured on NCAAsports.com.

Midshipmen are required to spend a minimum of 300 days out at sea in order to graduate from the Academy. Each one spends 100 to 120 days at sea as a sophomore and another 180 to 200 days as a junior. Nitta was out at sea between November and June after the completion of the 2006 soccer season. The article, published today, focuses on his stop in Antarctica.
