Landmark Softball Awards Announced

TOWSON, Md. – Moravian's Jenn Dalickas has been voted the Landmark Softball Player of the Year. Victoria Capozucca from Catholic was picked the Pitcher of the Year while Susquehanna's Jamie Fesinstine was selected the Rookie of the Year.

Dalickas was dominant at the plate this season. The three-time First Team All-Landmark selection led the conference with a .510 batting average. She drove in a Landmark-best 53 RBI and blasted 12 homeruns. Dalickas was even better in conference play, hitting .526.

Capozucca paced the league with a 1.35 earned run average this season. She earned a 15-4 record in the circle and finished the regular season with seven shutouts. Her Landmark earned run average is an impressive 1.07.

Dalickas and Capozucca also earned First Team honors for their efforts. Catholic freshman Kristina Lozupone hit .450 this season to rank second in the Landmark. She was honored for her performance as a catcher and designated player. Susquehanna first baseman Bridget Rafter hit .474 in conference play to boost the Crusaders.

The other First Team infielders include Elizabethtown shortstop Kaylee Werner and Moravian thrid baseman Rachel DeLucia. An honorable mention selection in the Commonwealth Conference last season, Werner ranked second in the conference with 32 RBI and hit .468 in Landmark games. DeLucia led the conference at the plate in Landmark games. She hit .531 this season while earning a .923 fielding percentage.

Outfielders Dior George, Payton Marunich, and Amanda Neveroski also earned First Team recognition. George is another three-time First Team selection. She led the Landmark with 42 runs scored and ranked third in batting average at .443 for Moravian. Marunich hit .371 at the plate to rank second for Elizabethtown. Neveroski played predominantly right field for the Crusaders, but also spent time in center. She finished the season hitting .331.

Moravian's Cassie Ernst joins teammates Dalickas and George as three-time First Team honorees. Ernst hit .354 for the Greyhounds, predominantly as the designated player. Moravian's Lizzie Mack split time as the designated player, pitcher, and outfielder to earn First Team honors as a utility player. She went .333 at the plate and 4-0 in the circle this season.

Susquehanna pitcher Morgan Lewis rounds out the First Team. She went 6-0 in Landmark competition while also picking up a save. Lewis paced the conference with 126 strikeouts in 21 appearances thus far.

Fesinstine, another critical member of the Susquehanna pitching staff, stepped in and made an immediate impact to take home Rookie of the Year honors. She has earned nine wins while collecting 80 strikeouts this season.

Susquehanna's Kathy Kroupa and her staff were selected as the Coaching Staff of the Year for the third consecutive year. It marks the Crusaders' fifth honor in seven years of Landmark competition. Susquehanna ran the table in the Landmark this season to earn the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. SU was the first team to go undefeated since Moravian did it in 2008.
