Athlete of the Week - Emma Varrato, Elizabethtown
Athlete of the Week Emma Varrato Elizabethtown (Sr, 2B/SS - Allentown, Pa.) Elizabethtown senior became the program's all-time hits leader with a single in game two against F&M, one of her nine hits over the team's four games this past week. Varrato hit .643 for the week with two doubles and a three-run home run at Juniata in game two of a sweep of the Eagles. She was 4-for-6 in two games, both wins, against F&M at home last Thursday. Varrato drew three walks and did not strike out in 14 at-bats. Defensively, she had a perfect fielding percentage at second base for the Blue Jays.
Pitcher of the Week - Amber Sergas, Elizabethtown
Pitcher of the Week Amber Sergas Elizabethtown (Sr, P - Royersford, Pa.) Elizabethtown senior Amber Sergas went 2-0 this week with a save for the Blue Jays, who won all four games, including two in Landmark Conference play. Sergas threw two complete games, one on Thursday against F&M and one on Saturday at Juniata, both wins. In four total appearances this past week, Sergas struck out 11 batters, including six on her start against the Diplomats. Sergas came in to pitch the final 1.2 innings in game two against F&M to earn the save. She threw eight innings in Saturday's eight-inning 9-4 win at Juniata. She pitched two innings of scoreless relief in game two.
