Landmark Announces Players of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has released the Players of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

Men's Swimmer of the Week
Guido Saccaggi
Catholic (Fr., Duluth, Ga.)

Saccaggi earned five first place finishes in five events this week. He helped Catholic to a 2-0 record with wins over NCAA Division I Howard and conference-foe Susquehanna. The freshman swam the 500 freestyle in both meets and on Saturday, he swam the second fastest time in the Landmark this season, winning the race in 4:51.61. His 1000 freestyle winning time of 10:11.24 broke a Susquehanna pool record. Saccaggi also won the 400 IM (4:22.66) at Susquehanna.
Women's Swimmer of the Week
Julia Wisler
Catholic (Jr., Phoenixville, Pa.)

Wisler competed in two meets this week as Catholic went 1-1. In Thursday's meet against Howard, the Cardinals earned the 109-67 win thanks in part to two first place finishes from Wisler. She swam the 100 freestyle in 55.99 and swam anchor in the 400 medley relay to help the team to a 4:18.25 finish. In Saturday's Landmark meet at Susquehanna, Wisler won the 50 free (25.50) and the 100 free (55.30). Her 100 freestyle time is the fastest in the Landmark so far this season. Wisler also combined with teammates for second place finishes in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

In three conference meets this weekend, Marywood, Scranton and Catholic earned wins on the men's side. Marywood and Scranton are still undefeated in Landmark action. On the women's side, Marywood, Scranton (2), Juniata and Susquehanna picked up conference wins. Scranton and Susquehanna are still undefeated in Landmark action.
