Caleb Capozella Named Landmark Senior Scholar Athlete

Caleb Capozella Named Landmark Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the six winter honorees will be announced this week.

Catholic University's Caleb Capozella has been named the Men's Swimming & Diving Senior Scholar Athlete. He is a nine-time Landmark All-Conference performer with three individual championships while competing in just three Landmark Championship meets. In 2011 Capozella was named the Landmark Swimmer and Rookie of the Year. He owns six school records including the 100 and 200 backstroke, and 200 individual medley.

Capozella has amassed a 3.95 cumulative grade point average while majoring in biomedical engineering. He is a three-time Landmark Honor Roll recipient and has been honored by the Dean's List every semester. Originally from Green Bay, Wis., Capozella also spent a semester abroad in Hong Kong at the Polytechnic Institute.
