Men's Athlete of the Week - Greg McCarthy, Catholic
Men's Athlete of the Week Greg McCarthy Catholic (So., Silver Spring, Md.) Catholic University sophomore Greg McCarthy took first in four events in Catholic's 160-102 non conference win over Washington College. He touched the wall first in the 100-breaststroke (1:00.09), 200-breaststroke (2:13.25), 200-IM (1:59.13), and was part of the first-place 200-medley relay team.
Women's Athlete of the Week - Lauren Byrne, Scranton
Women's Athlete of the Week Lauren Byrne Scranton (So., Cranford, N.J.) University of Scranton sophomore Lauren Byrne was impressive in a dual meet yet again for the Royals, as she helped the team improve their record to 6-1 on the year with a 180-79 victory over Elizabethtown on Sunday. She swam the third leg on the 200-medley relay team, while her time in the 400-IM was over 11 seconds better (4:48.88) than the second place finisher in the event. Byrne also earned a first-place finish in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:10.41.
