Royals Down Crusaders At Landmark Round-Robin

TOWSON, Md.- Junior middle blocker Abby Barrett (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area), junior outside hitter Jacqueline Pisano (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and senior middle blocker Valerie Naranjo (Brodheadsville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) combined for 33 kills to lead The University of Scranton to a 3-0 (30-20, 30-20, 30-22) victory over Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference round-robin action Saturday.

The Royals also received seven kills and three solo blocks from senior middle blocker Brooke Hinkley (Hallstead, Pa./Blue Ridge) and 36 assists from junior setter Jenn McKeighan (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) to improve to 16-8 overall and 3-1 in the Landmark Conference.

Pisano and Barrett also finished with 16 and 12 digs, respectively, to record their 12th and 8th ‘double-doubles' of the season.

The Royals will take on defending NCAA Division III champion Juniata College and the United States Merchant Marine Academy Sunday morning.
