Catholic's Robinson Earns All-America Status
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sophomore midfielder Kate Robinson
(Emmitsburg, Md./Catoctin) capped off her season with one of the
highest honors in intercollegiate women's lacrosse. The Emmitsburg,
Md., native was selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse
Coaches Association's All-American third team in just her second
year playing college lacrosse. She is one of only five sophomores
selected, all to the third team. Robinson is also the only player
from the Landmark Conference.
Robinson had an outstanding season leading her team in goals (91)
and assists (26) for a team-best 117 points. Her 5.3 PPG also
ranked her third in the nation in scoring average. She has already
been honored as the Landmark Conference Player of the Year, first
team All-Landmark and first team All-Chesapeake Region. Earlier
this week she was selected to the womenslacrosse.com all-American
third team.
The sophomore played a large role in CUA's success this past
season. The Cardinals went 17-5 and won the Landmark Conference
going undefeated during the regular season. CUA was an at-large
selection for the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the regional
championship where they lost to #1 Salisbury. The Cards finished
their first-ever run to the post season with a 2-1 record.
