Rangers Roll To Lopsided ECAC Victory

MADISON, N.J. - The Drew women's lacrosse team dominated its
ECAC Quarterfinal with Gwynedd-Mercy, 18-3. The Rangers will move
on to face ECAC top seed Dickinson at Stevens Tech on Saturday.
Drew had nine different goal scorers and got great play from three
different goalkeepers in the win. Morgan Kenney led Drew with four
goals and an assist and Lindsey Perno had three and two.
After a lethargic start, the Rangers got on the board with 17
minutes left to play in the first half. Stacie Brown scored her
50th goal of the season to give Drew the 1-0 lead that it would
quickly build upon. The Rangers would finish the first half up
10-0. Brook Connell scored a nice second goal and Allison
O’Neal tallied with just under 13 to play for a 3-0 lead.
Brown added another and Cara Jeffries, Sloane Coles and Meghan
Santaniello all scored. Kenney added two more in the first for the
dime lead. Stef Rutkowski was outstanding throughout the half,
pitching a shutout while making 11 saves.
The Rangers would add an 11th after the restart from Coles. The
Griffins got on the board with 24:05 left through Colleen
Dellostretto. Kenney and Coles would both score again with a pair
of Lindsey Perno goals in the middle. G-M would add two more in the
second half, but the game was long decided.
Drew has a much tougher task when they face Dickinson on Saturday
at 2:30.
