Moravian Clinches Home Postseason Match

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Moravian College women's soccer team
clinched one of the top two seeds and a home match in the 2007
Landmark Conference Tournament with a 3-0 win at The Catholic
University of America in Landmark Conference action Sunday
afternoon.
Junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick (Wantage, NJ/High Point Regional
HS) scored her 11th goal of the season and gave the Greyhounds all
of the offense they would need in the eighth minute when she headed
in a pass from junior defender Alexandra Frascella (Chatham,
NJ/Chatham HS) for Fitzpatrick's sixth game-winning goal of the
season. The goal also gave Fitzpatrick 51 career points, becoming
just the seventh player in school history to reach 50 points.
Fitzpatrick added an unassisted goal in the 79th minute for her
12th tally of the season, and her fourth two-goal match of the
year. The goal was the 20th of Fitzpatrick's career, the seventh
player to reach to career goals, and moved her into a tie for fifth
in career scoring with 53 points.
Freshman forward Shannon McEvoy (Lafayette, NJ/High Point Regional
HS) would add another goal for the Greyhounds, her third of the
season, off of a pass from sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara
(Butler, NJ/Butler HS) in the 88th minute.
Catholic held a 16-8 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge in corner
kicks. Moravian junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan (Perkasie,
PA/Pennridge HS) made nine saves for her ninth shutout of the
season, increasing her school record career shutout total to 24.
The Greyhounds also had one team save. Catholic keeper Tere Rossi
had three saves in the match.
