Moravian Keeps Rolling With Win Over Rival

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Moravian sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara
scored in the 72nd minute to lead the Greyhounds to their fourth
consecutive win with a 1-0 women's soccer non-conference victory
over rival Muhlenberg College on the HUB Quad.
Valdetara took a long lead pass from junior forward Tracy
Fitzpatrick and chipped a shot over the goalie's from 15-yards out
on the right wing for her third goal of the season.
Fitzpatrick had a shot to give Moravian a lead in the 43rd minute
but hit the crossbar with one of her six shots in the match. The
win was Moravian's second straight and sixth of the season by
shutout.
Muhlenberg dominated possession of the ball most of the match,
out-shooting Moravian 14-11, and the Mules also had a 7-5 edge in
corner kicks.
Greyhound junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan registered six saves as
she moved into a tie for second in school history with Jill Vaccaro
with her 21st career shutout. Moravian also made two team saves
with defenders clearing balls off of the goal line.
Sophomore goalie Kate Morrissey posted four saves for Muhlenberg.
