Moravian Slides Past Farmingdale State

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Moravian women's soccer team earned a 3-1
non-conference victory over Farmingdale State College on the HUB
Quad.
The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute when sophomore
forward Alessandra Valdetara put a rebound in the back of the net
for her second goal of the season. Moravian would extend its lead
to 2-0 in the 33rd minute when junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick
drove it and put her own rebound into the net for her seventh goal
and fifth game winning goal of the year.
The Rams would cut Moravian's lead in half in the 76th minute when
Christina Cascio touched a free kick by Kristine Ostrem from near
midfield into the net on Farmingdale State's first shot of the
match.
Fitzpatrick netted an insurance goal for Moravian in the 89th
minute when she ripped a shot from 18-yards out over the keeper's
head for her second goal of the match and eighth of the season.
Freshman forward Mallory Goggins set up Fitzpatrick with a short
pass from the left side of the field.
Moravian had an 18-2 advantage in shots and a 10-2 edge in corner
kicks. Greyhound junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan did not make a save
while posting her seven win of the season. Goalie Kimberly Sontag
of Farmingdale State made six saves in the contest.
