Royals Stay Perfect In Landmark Play
MADISON, N.J. - Freshman midfielder Chelsea Paskman (Chalfont,
Pa./Central Bucks South) scored a pair of goals in the second-half
to lift The University of Scranton women's soccer team to a 2-0
victory over Drew University in Landmark Conference Saturday
afternoon.
Paskman's first goal was assisted by sophomore forward Beth
Stephens (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), who was credited with
her second assist on the year by sending a corner kick into the far
post that was deflected into the net. Paskman put the match out of
reach by blasting in a shot from 22 yards out for her third goal of
the season at the 68-minute mark.
Scranton, which has now won three of its last four matches to
improve to 4-6-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play, did not allow
the Rangers a shot-on-goal. Defensively, the Royals limited Drew,
now 4-4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Landmark Conference, to just two
shot attempts.
The Royals will close out a two-match road trip this Tuesday,
October 2, against the Bombers of Ithaca College in upstate New
York beginning at 4:00 p.m.
