TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the first six honorees will be announced over the next two weeks.
Catholic University's Bridget Kulesh has been named the Volleyball Senior Scholar Athlete. Kulesh has played in 56 matches over the last four years and racked up 871 kills to average 2.1 per set. She also finished with a career hitting percentage of .216 and accumulated 403 digs.
This past season, Kulesh averaged 1.45 kills per set and helped the Cardinals to a 23-15 season. She was voted Second Team All-Landmark for her performance.
Kulesh is originally from Gaithersburg, Md. She boasts a 3.89 grade point average while majoring in biology. She is also a three-time Landmark Honor Roll selection and Dean's list honoree. In addition to playing volleyball, Kulesh is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. She also serves as a teaching assistant for a biology course at Catholic.
