TOWSON, Md. - The University of Scranton volleyball team is spending the week in Costa Rica, and sophomore Kindler Norman is taking us along on the Royals journey.
Today was officially our last day in Costa Rica...I’m trying to hold back the tears writing this blog.
We got to sleep in this morning (yay!), and headed back to San Jose. We had a delicious lunch and picked up some last minute souvenirs at El Jardin. Once we got to the hotel, we rested for a couple of hours before our game.
Our game tonight was against a “Division 1” league. The girls on this team ranged from 17-23 years old, and some of them were actually paid to play. Tonight was the toughest competition we had, but we managed to work hard and win in three. The University of Scranton women’s volleyball team is officially undefeated in Costa Rica -- Pura vida!
Tomorrow we have an early morning to catch our plane ride to Miami then Philadelphia. This trip was truly amazing, and I am so happy I got to share my experiences with you. If you are wanting to travel outside of the country, I strongly recommend Costa Rica. It has breathtaking sights, a rich culture, beautiful language, and fantastic people. I will never forget my time here. I won’t be sad tomorrow leaving (just kidding, I will probably cry my eyes out), because I know this will not be my last trip to Costa Rica. It is too amazing to only visit once.
