Top Moments

The 2016-17 season marks the 10th year anniversary for the Landmark Conference. As part of the buildup to each sport’s championship season, fans will be asked to select their favorite moment from the first decade from a list created by members of the conference. The winning moment will be announced prior to the conference championship.

The final round of voting will begin on Tuesday, April 25, and will run through Friday, April 28 at noon.

The top moment winners will be announced in the weeks leading up to championship weekend.

Baseball

1. Catholic Wins First Ever First Ever Landmark Title in Extra Innings | May 4, 2008
The third-seeded Catholic University baseball squad (26-13-1) overcame adversity to win the Landmark Conference Championship by defeating the University of Scranton (26-16), 16-7, in the deciding game.  The Cardinals beat both the first and second seeds earlier in the tourney to then face fourth-seeded Scranton coming out of the loser's bracket. 

2. Matt Regan Tosses Complete Game to Keep Eagles Alive in Tournament | May 7, 2010
Matt Regan tossed a complete game against Susuquehanna as the Eagles defeated the Crusaders 5-2 to keep Juniata alive in the Landmark Tournament. Regan had 11 strikeouts and gave up just one earned run on the day.

3. Juniata Shuts Out Catholic 8-0 to Reach the Landmark Championship | May 8, 2010
In another must win game for the Juniata College baseball team, the Eagles sent John Love to the hill, and he responded with his second straight nine-inning complete game, this time beating Catholic University in the Landmark Conference Tournament, 8-0 to advance to the championship game.

4. Moravian Wins Two Games to Win First Landmark Title & NCAA Appearance | May 8, 2010
The top seeded Moravian College baseball team won its first-ever Landmark Conference Championship and first conference title since 1990 with a 19-2 victory over fourth seed Juniata College in the title game of the 2010 Landmark Conference Championship.. The Greyhounds earned an automatic berth to the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, the first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in school history.

5. Drew's Tom Murray Hits Walk-Off Homerun to Win Landmark | Video | May 7, 2012
Senior Tom Murray hit a one-out, walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give fourth seed, Drew University (22-19) a 10-9 victory over host and top seed Moravian College (28-16). The Rangers won their first Landmark Conference Championship.

6. Scranton Rallies, Defeats Catholic 6-5 in Eleven Innings to Advance to Landmark Championship | May 5, 2013
In the Landmark Conference playoff elimination game, the Royals trailed 5-3 with two outs and nobody on in the top of the 9th, but rallied to score two runs to force extra innings. The tying run scored from first base on a double, and there was a collision at the plate and both benches cleared, but no fight actually ocurred. The Royals scored two innings later to win and advance to the championship round the next day.

7. Moravian Defeats Scranton, 8-5, to Win Second Conference Title in Four Years | May 6, 2013
The third seeded Moravian College baseball team captured its second Landmark Conference Championship in four seasons and an automatic berth to the 2013 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament with an 8-5 victory over fourth seed The University of Scranton in the 2013 Landmark Conference Tournament. The conference title was the fourth in Moravian's history to go with Middle Atlantic Conference titles in 1960 and 1990 and the Landmark Conference championship in 2010.

8. Elizabethtown's Nick Gulla Pitches Blue Jays into Landmark Championship | May 6, 2016
With Elizabethtown's season on the line and no margin for error, senior pitcher Nick Gulla turned in the best game of his career. Gulla tossed a complete game three-hit shutout to eliminate Moravian, 3-0 and send the Blue Jays to their first Landmark Championship series.

Softball

1. Scranton Rallies, Defeats Catholic 12-11 for Programs First Landmark Conference Playoff Win | May 2, 2008
The Royals pulled out a thrilling 12-11 win over Catholic in the opening round of the Landmark playoffs for the program's first Landmark Conference playoff win. The Royals overcame an 11-8 deficit in the bottom of the seventh on Anne Zeleniak's walk-off grand slam. Her dramatic homer capped a comeback from a 4-0 deficit after two innings, 8-6 after the top of the fifth and the 11-8 deficit heading to the final half inning.

2. Moravian Wins If Necessary Game Against Kean University to Win Regional, Heads to World Series | May 17, 2010
Moravian College softball team posted a 5-0 shutout over third seed Kean (NJ) University in the if necessary game to win the 2010 NCAA Division III Providence Regional and earn a berth to the 2010 NCAA Division III College World Series.

3. Juniata Keeps Title Hopes Alive with 4-2 Win Over Moravian | May 4, 2013
The fourth seeded Juniata College softball team kept its Landmark Conference title hopes alive with a 4-2 win over second seeded Moravian College. The win was Juniata's first win against Moravian in 10 years. Their last win against the Greyhounds came in 2003 in Bethlehem, Pa., as the Eagles won a 1-0 thriller.

4. Catholic Win First Landmark Title and Go On to Claim NCAA Game Victory | May 3, 2014
The Catholic University of America softball team held off a late rally by the Crusaders of Susquehanna for the program's first Landmark Conference Softball Title.

Men's Lacrosse

1. Drew Wins Inaugural Landmark Championship | May 3, 2008
Drew won a tense, hard fought affair with the Goucher Gophers to take the inaugural Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse championships, 8-5, at Ranger Stadium.

2. Goucher Wins Landmark Title, Defeats Catholic | May 8, 2010
The largest crowd in the history of Gopher Stadium was on hand today to witness the biggest moment in the history of Goucher's men's lacrosse program — the first conference championship. The Gophers captured the 2010 Landmark Conference title by knocking off Catholic, 11-4. With the win came an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs — another first in the program's 19-year existence.

3. Scranton Captures First Landmark Championship in Men's Lacrosse | May 7, 2011
Scranton captures its first Landmark championship in men's lacrosse with a 12-8 victory at Goucher. Junior attackman Daniel Slade finished with five goals and an assist as the Royals advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

4. Goucher Captures Second Landmark Title | May 5, 2012
Goucher men's lacrosse wins the Landmark Conferece, beating Drew 10-7 and advances through the First Round of the NCAA tournament with a win over Washington (MD), 5-4. The Gophers ended the season ranked 10th in the nation.

5. Susquehanna Wins its First Landmark Title as No. 3 Seed | May 4, 2013
A low-scoring first half turned into a second-half frenzy as Susqehanna men’s lacrosse held off Merchant Marine 6-3 to win its first-ever Landmark Conference title.

6. Susquehanna Defeats Goucher for First Time Ever in the Landmark | May 3, 2014
The Susquehanna men’s lacrosse team won its second-straight Landmark Conference Championship, defeating Goucher 9-6, the program’s first-ever victory over the Gophers. The No. 1 seed Susquehanna held a 3-1 lead at intermission and held off a third-period rally by the No. 3 seed Gophers to win the league title for the second time—the first men’s lacrosse repeat champion in Landmark history.

7. Catholic Wins First Landmark Championship in Program History | May 2, 2015
The Catholic University men's lacrosse program moved from club to varsity status in 1998. Recording their biggest victory ever, the Cardinals won 5-4 at Scranton (Pa.) on Saturday to win the Landmark Conference championship and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

8. Elizabethtown Stops Scranton, Advances to Landmark Championship | May 4, 2016
Joe Clark totaled five points and Davis Miracle made nine saves as the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team advanced to the first conference championship game in team history with an 11-4 win over Scranton in the Landmark semifinals.

9. Back-to-Back: Keith Scores with 3.1 Seconds Left in OT | Video | May 7, 2016
In a Landmark Conference, instant-classic, The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team won a thrilling overtime game at Elizabethtown in the conference championship for its second-straight title and another trip to the NCAA Tournament. After a back-and-forth regulation, Tournament MVP Tim Keith scored with 3.1 seconds left on the overtime clock to clinch the 13-12 victory and make Catholic back-to-back league champs.

10. Moravian Finish 2016 Return to Varsity Status by Playing in ECAC First Round | May 11, 2016
The Moravian College men's lacrosse team made its first-ever postseason appearance in the 2016 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Tournament First Round with the sixth seeded Hounds falling to third seed and host Lebanon Valley College, 10-6. The Greyhounds finish their first varsity season since 2010 with a 10-6 overall mark, the first 10-win campaign in program history.

1. Susquehanna Completes Undefeated Season | May 4, 2013
A 9-4 halftime lead translated into a 16-9 Landmark Conference championship victory for No. 11 Susquehanna women’s lacrosse over Catholic. The conference title was the first for SU since joining the Landmark in 2007 and first title overall since 2002, when they won the Middle Atlantic Conference.

2. Scranton Gets Revenge in Semifinal Game | May 4, 2016
Scranton gets revenge for a regular season loss with a dominant 20-10 victory over Susquehanna in a Landmark Conference semifinal. The win advances the Royals to the Landmark Conference title game for the first time in the conference's 9-year history. Freshman attacker Elena Gallo leads the way with a career-high six goals as Scranton beats Susquehanna after suffering an 18-8 loss in the regular season matchup.

3. Catholic Goes Back to Elite 8, Wins 8th Landmark Title in 9 Years | May 7, 2016
It's was a three-peat for The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team as they downed Scranton 19-12, to earn the Landmark Conference Championship. It was the Cardinals' eighth league crown and trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past nine seasons.

Men's Tennis

1. Scranton Ends Drew 13-year Conference Winning Streak | April 18, 2013
Scranton ends Drew's 13-year conference winning streak with a 5-4 victory in the regular season matchup at Royal Courts. The Royals' victory ended a streak of 110 straight victories against conference opponents for the Rangers. The end of the streak received mention on ESPN.

2. Drew Wins 13th Straight Overall & Sixth Straight Landmark Title | April 27, 2013
The Drew men's tennis team won their 13th-straight conference championship and their sixth in the Landmark with a 5-4 win over the University of Scranton. The Rangers successfully avenged a 5-4 loss to the Royals from the regular season. The championship was decided on the final match, when freshman Hunter Lathrop clinched a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory at second singles.

3. Catholic Wins First Ever Landmark Championship | April 27, 2014
The Catholic University men's tennis team claimed the program's first Landmark Men's Tennis Championship, knocking off top-seeded Juniata College 5-4. The Cardinals trailed 2-1 after doubles, but battled back to win the title.

4. Juniata Defeats Goucher to Win First Ever Title | May 2, 2015
On a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon at Raffensberger Court, Juniata and Goucher faced off in the men's tennis Landmark Conference Championship. Despite being down 2-1 after doubles play, the Eagles took four out of five in singles to come away with a 5-3 win and claim the title. It is the first Landmark championship since Juniata joined the conference in the 2007-08 season and its first conference crown overall.

5. Moravian Capture First Ever ECAC Outdoor Championship | May 10, 2015
The Greyhounds capture the first-ever ECAC Division III Outdoor Championship with a 5-2 win over Landmark Conference fo USMMA.

6. Goucher Returns to Finals, Top Juniata for First Ever Title | May 8, 2016
Goucher men's tennis returns to the Landmark finals to top Juniata, the team that beat them the year before. The Gophers then advanced to second round of the NCAA playoffs.

Goucher women's tennis tops Juniata in Landamark semis, and advances to finals to take on Moravian where the Gophers lose to the Greyhounds 8-1.

2. Drew Wins First Landmark Championship | May 8, 2010
The top-seeded Drew Women's Tennis team captured their first Landmark Conference Championship, defeating #2 Moravian, 5-2. With the win the Rangers received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

3. Moravian Wins Landmark Title to Earn Second NCAA Appearance | April 30, 2011
The second seeded Moravian College women’s tennis team defeated fourth seed The University of Scranton, 5-4, to win the 2011 Landmark Conference Championship. With the win, the Greyhounds clinched the conference's automatic berth to the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championships.

4. Goucher Defeats Juniata to Advance to Landmark Finals | April 24, 2013
Kirsten Cianci lost a first set tiebreaker, but rallied to earn the clinching point for Goucher, sending the Gophers to the Landmark Conference finals. Goucher got off to slow start, losing at No. 3 doubles to fall into a hole early. Juniata was unable to capitalize, however, as the Gophers took the other two to take a 2-1 advantage into singles.

5. Scranton Wins Third Straight Landmark Title | April 27, 2014
Scranton wins its third straight Landmark title with a 5-3 win over Catholic at Royal Courts. Sophomore Emily Walsh is named MVP after rallying for wins at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles.

6. Elizabethtown Wins First Landmark Title | May 2, 2015
Lauren Berry dropped a shot behind Nicole Mahaffey on the sixth championship point, completing a comeback at No. 3 singles and elevating Elizabethtown College women's tennis to its first Landmark Conference Championship –and sixth straight conference title– 5-2 over the University of Scranton.

7. Catholic Earns Player & Rookie of the Year | May 7, 2015
Liz Harvey of The Catholic University of America women's tennis team was named Landmark Conference Player of the Year along side her teammate Jenna Gietl who was named the conference's Rookie of the Year.

8. Juniata Defeats Scranton, Ends Losing Streak | May 3, 2016
For the last two years, the Juniata and Scranton women's teams have met in the Landmark Semifinals. On both occasions, the Royals have come out on the winning end. The third time proved to be the charm as the Eagles defeated the Royals 5-3 to advance to the Landmark Championship for the first time in program history. The victory marked only the second time that Juniata has defeated Scranton in its history and is the first since 2009. The win also snapped the Royals' nine-match winning streak over JC.

9. Elizabethtown Repeat as Landmark Champions | May 7, 2016
Third-seeded Juniata pushed the top-seeded Elizabethtown College women's tennis team to the limit in the 2016 Landmark Championship. The match came down to second singles, where junior Madison McCall's comeback win carried the Blue Jays to a 5-4 victory for their second straight Landmark title and seventh consecutive conference championship since 2010.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field

1. Moravian's Ozzie Brown Wins NCAA Decathlon | May 23, 2008
Moravian senior Ozzie Brown won the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championship in the decathlon at the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships being hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. The national title is the second for Brown this year, making him the second Moravian student-athlete to win multiple national championships in the same year.

2. Susquehanna's Paul Thistle Wins Four Events, Earns Track Athlete of the Year | May 2, 2010
Paul Thistle won the 1500, 3K Steeple and the 5K to earn Co-Track Athelete of the year. It was the third consecutive year he won all three events at outdoor championships

3. Moravian Wins Multiple National Titles | May 28, 2011
Eric Woodruff wins NCAA DIII National Title in 200-meter dash for third straight year and adds 100-meter dash title, and Gary Zack wins javelin national championship as Moravian finishes sixth at NCAA Outoor Championships.

4. Susquehanna Comes From Behind, Captures First Outdoor Track Championship | May 4, 2014
Susquehanna comes from behind to capture its first men's Outdoor Landmark team title.

5. Elizabethtown's Mike Twist Runs to All-American Finish | May 28, 2016
Mike Twist locked up his All-American status after winning his preliminary heat of the 800 on Friday at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Twist was one of eight athletes to advance to Saturday's 800-meter final. He became the fifth All-American in the 800 in Elizabethtown College men's track & field program history.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field

1. Susquehanna's Woodruff Earns Track Rookie of the Year | April 27, 2008
Alycia Woodruff won the 1,500 and 5K and was third in the 800 to earn the 2008 Landmark Rookie of the Year award.

2. Moravian's Heim and Schafer Win Back to Back NCAA Division III Pole Vault | Heim | Schafer
Anna Heim and Abigail Schafer go back-to-back as NCAA DIII National Champions in the pole vault outdoors at meet records to match the feat they also did during the indoor seasons in 2010 and 2011.

3. Moravian's Abigail Schafer Sets NCAA Pole Vault Record | April 21, 2012
Senior pole vaulter Abby Schaffer recorded the top height ever in NCAA Division III history, clearing 4.22 meters (13 feet, ten inches) to lead the Moravian College women's outdoor track & field team at the non-scoring Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track & Rocco Calvo Field Friday and Saturday.

4. Goucher's Jaclyn Kellon Wins Conference Championship | May 27, 2013
Jaclyn Kellon wins the conference championship in 400 Hurdles for the fourth straight year, breaking her previous record with a time of 1:03.79 - still standing today.

5. Catholic's Mary Clark Wins Hammer for Third Straight-Year | May 4, 2015
In the field Mary Clark threw the hammer for her third consecutive first place finish while setting a new school and meet record of 47.39 meters. Clark also notched podium spots in the discus, placing second (37.49m), shot put, placing sixth (11.69), and Javelin, placing seventh (31.51).

6. Elizabethtown's Porter & Meier Wrap Up Seasons at NCAA Division Championships | May 23, 2015
The championships marked the third and final day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and the Elizabethtown College women's track and field team has both its representatives in action. Amanda Porter and Casey Meier were two of 22 competitors in the women's javelin.

7. Susquehanna's Ashley West Wins 800m For Fourth Straight Year | May 8, 2016
Ashley West wins the 800 for the fourth straight year and alos wins the 1500 for thh third consecutive year at the Landmark Championships

8. Juniata's Alissa Sellers Breaks 23-Year School Record | May 19, 2016
Sellers took on the Mideast Invitational at Widener University with hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships. To get there, she was going to have to crush her title-winning 11.32m mark. On her last attempt of the day, Sellers did just that. She recorded a mark of 11.96m (39' 3'') that broke the all-time record at Juniata by half a meter and qualified her for the NCAA Championships. The previous record of 11.46m was set by Gennifer Washington in 1993.
