Susquehanna University’s Kari Schmidt earned her second straight Defensive Player of the Year award, anchoring a River Hawk defense that posted four shutouts and allowed just five goals in conference play, with a strong 0.56 goals-against average. This recognition marks the fourth consecutive year a Susquehanna player has won Defensive Player of the Year, with Schmidt’s former teammate Annalee Smith claiming the award in both 2021 and 2022.
