Houghton finished first of the 81 runners with a winning 8,000-meter time of 26:10.3, just edging teammate Own Nahf, who was the runner-up in a time of 26:10.6. He is the fourth Greyhound to earn Performer of the Year honors, and first since 2013 when Dillon Farrell earned the award. Earlier this season, Houghton set a new Landmark 6k record at the Lehigh University Invitational. He crossed the finish line in 18:16.80 to place 15th.
