Kara Vashey opened the Muhlenberg College Invitational with a win in the hammer throw, posting a personal-best mark of 43.97 meters (144-3). She added a second-place finish in the shot put on Saturday with another PR of 11.30 meters (37-1). Vashey also competed in the discus, placing 16th with a throw of 29.38 meters (96-4), capping a strong all-around weekend in the field.
