For the third straight season, Heinio-Widell swept all seven of his events (three individual, four relay) and became just the third swimmer in conference history to earn Men’s Swimmer of the Year honors three times, joining Gregory McCarthy (2018–21) of Catholic University and Kevin Lindgren (2013–15) from USMMA. He reset his own school, meet, and conference record with an NCAA B cut time of 48.14 in the 100 butterfly and was part of two more record-breaking performances in the 400 free relay (3:04.87) and 200 free relay (1:22.98).
