Diakite capped an outstanding indoor season by winning the 200m dash in 22.53 and the 60m hurdles in 8.10. His hurdle time tied the Landmark Conference record and broke the championship meet record of 8.16, previously set by former River Hawk Joey Masser in 2023. The Landmark record was originally established by Ozzie Brown of Moravian University during the league’s inaugural season in 2008. At the time of publication, Diakite’s 8.10 ranks 11th nationally in Division III. His recognition as Track Performer of the Year continues Susquehanna’s tradition of individual honors. Since the first championship in 2008, a River Hawk has earned Track, Field, or Rookie of the Year every season except 2014. Diakite becomes the eighth River Hawk to receive Track Performer of the Year and the second straight, joining former teammate Brandon Zimmerman.
