Hennessy made his outdoor debut in shot put at the Lebanon Valley College Mini Meet. He placed sixth overall with a throw of 12.30m in the shot put, and was seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.00m. Hennessy also competed in the discus, throwing for 39.94m.
