King set the school and conference record in the 35-pound weight throw with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying toss of 16.41 meters (53-10) to place second in the event at the Franklin & Marshall College Mini-Dip Invitational. He hit the mark twice on his second and third attempts of the afternoon. King also placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 13.84 meters (45-5) on his first throw of the meet, just missing the AARTFC qualifying distance by one centimeter.
