Danzig is coming off an impressive conference tournament where the graduate student was named the Most Valuable Player. In the championship game, Danzig scored 16 of his team-high 20 points in the second half and added six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. In the semifinal matchup, Danzig scored 21 points. He leads the conference in points per game, averaging 20.1. He also ranks first in three-point percentage, shooting an impressive 44.3%.

Danzig kept the family tradition alive after earning All-Conference honors for the third time in his career. The younger Danzig joins brothers Ross and Ethan as an All-League selection. Ross was a three-time First Team selection as well as being named the conference Rookie of the Year (2011) and Player of the Year (2014). Ethan earned Second Team honors in both 2017 and 2018.

In the conference's 15-year history, the Royals have had six Player of the Year selections.
