Heino-Widell showcased an extraordinary performance in his Landmark Conference debut, clinching both titles of Landmark Conference Swimmer of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Dominating in all seven events he contested (four relays and three individual races), he not only secured victory but also shattered three Landmark Conference Championship meet records and reset three school records. Additionally, he achieved an NCAA B cut, further solidifying his exceptional talent.
Heino-Widell's remarkable achievement follows in the footsteps of senior Hayden Koh, who accomplished the same feat two years prior, making him the second Ranger in the last three years to sweep both Athlete and Rookie of the Year awards.
On Sunday, Heino-Widell concluded his outstanding performance with a remarkable finish in the 100-freestyle, touching in at 45.55 – surpassing his own school record and breaking the meet record that had remained unchallenged for six years.
